What Is Limbrel?

Limbrel (also called flavocoxid) is a prescription medication used to treat osteoarthritis. It works by providing the body with heightened levels plant-based flavonoids and flavans that are unavailable in non-medical food. It comes in a soluble, yellow-brown powder that can be combined into food and drinks.

Dangers of Limbrel

On December 21, 2017, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) deemed Limbrel “an unapproved new drug” and instructed patients to immediately stop using it. Many patients taking Limbrel have developed liver injuries as a result, displaying a number of serious side effects, including:

  • Nausea
  • Lethargy
  • Jaundice
  • General discomfort

Limbrel has also been known to cause hypersensitivity pneumonitis, a condition caused by inhaling dusty substances. This condition causes the alveoli in the lungs to become inflamed, resulting in painful symptoms, such as:

  • Fever
  • Chills
  • Coughing
  • Tightness in the chest
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Shortness of breath
  • Rash outbreak
  • Headaches or migraines
  • General discomfort

How a Dangerous Drugs Attorney Can Help Patients Hurt by Limbrel

Both livery injuries and hypersensitivity pneumonitis are deadly conditions that can create a myriad of other health problems for those affected. If you were prescribed Limbrel as a treatment for osteoporosis (or for any other reason) and were injured as a result, you and your family will likely incur a number of additional expenses, especially if your injury becomes terminal. Our team at Christian & Christian is here to ensure the responsible parties are held accountable for your suffering and financial losses.
