A hip replacement surgery is one of the most serious and invasive surgeries many people will ever experience. When you get a hip replacement, you expect that it will function properly for years to come. Unfortunately, hundreds of thousands of people who received the MicroPort Profemur Modular-Neck Hip Implant may be at risk of potentially serious complications.
At Christian & Christian, our Greenville medical malpractice attorneys are proud to stand for those who have been injured by defective medical devices. We believe that our clients have suffered enough, and we work tirelessly to pursue fair compensation on their behalf.
If you’ve been hurt due to a defective metal on metal hip implant, call us at (864) 408-8883.
What Is the Microport Profemur Modular-Neck Hip Implant?
This is a metal-on-metal hip implant which features a modular neck, which is essentially an adjustable/moving piece designed to ease recovery by equalizing limb length and balancing the hip. According to the manufacturer’s website, more than 270,000 of these systems have been sold worldwide since 2000.
Why Was the Implant Recalled?
This hip implant has been recalled due to a risk of the modular neck breaking or fracturing suddenly, causing severe pain, limiting your ability to walk, and potentially leading to a host of other complications. Additionally, the movement of the metal parts may potentially cause metallosis, which is essentially a buildup of metallic debris in your muscles, ligaments, and other soft tissue. If you have experienced any complications related to the metal neck fracture, you may be entitled to compensation.
If you experience any of the following complications, call us immediately:
- Sudden, severe pain in the hip
- Trouble walking or unable to walk
- Any serious trauma to the hip or leg, such as falling
- A loss of feeling in the leg
- A tingling sensation in the leg

Client Reviews
Everyone there was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. My car was totaled, and I was a little intimidated talking with a couple of other lawyers in Greenville. But with Christian and Christian, not only did they answer my questions, but they did so in a way that made what could have been a hectic situation, easy. Overall, an excellent experience with high quality lawyers who truly go above and beyond and really try to get you the results or answers you need.
