Under the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation Act, all injured employees are able to receive benefits for up to 500 weeks on disability and must be paid at a rate of 66 and two-thirds percent of their average weekly wage. It is important to note that employees on workers’ compensation have a detailed fee schedule that attaches benefits to types of injuries. For example, a lost limb could mean you will receive benefits for a longer period of time while a broken thumb may mean your benefits expire when the injury has healed.
Who Can File For Workers’ Comp in South Carolina?
The real question is who cannot file for workers’ compensation in South Carolina.
