Updates on Nursing Home VisitationCenters for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) has recently stated that visitations must be permitted for nursing home residents, despite rising Covid-19 cases. This is based on residents’ federal rights to make their own life choices, and an acknowledgement of the physical and mental declines in residents after previously mandated visitation restrictions. Facilities and all visitors are rather encouraged to take extra precautions to reduce spread prior to and post-visitation to maintain a balance of psychosocial and physical well-being for all residents.
